LONG WAY HOME
Over the year's we've been gifted with some awesome photos
of our servicemen and women all over the world and we want to showcase all
our military fans on our site, but there's a catch. They need to have some
Ragweed in there somewhere! So
send your photos to us of all those great Ragweed fans and we'll showcase them on this page.
Shannon,
I just want to pass on a little about what some of the fans are doing. There are a few of us misplaced Texans out here in the middle of nowhere who appreciate great music. We're always rockin' some Cross Canadian Ragweed and can't wait to get back to catch some shows from Cody and the guys!
Thanks again,
Travis
Dear Shannon,
I though the following picture was a great
candidate for your website for the Long Way
Home section. Please
see attached picture of our buddy and fellow Carney Men (Ryan Hyde) who is
serving in Afghanistan. He is a big Cross Canadian Ragweed Fan.
Thanks,
Griff
I've been a fan since The Wormy Dog. Thought you would like this banner in
the sandbox waving proudly for all to see!

MSgt Hillers and SrA Hart both native Texans, deployed to Iraq. The flag was flown over the Texas House of Representatives, on June 1 2002, then flown over Iraq in a F-16 fighter on a combat mission on June 7 2006, and also flown over Iraq in a F-16 fighter on a combat mission, on 01-Sept-2006, the day I reenlisted. Thanks for sending the sweet-ass stickers.

Here is a pic for the website from my time as an Engineer for the 25 ID in Afghanistan last year. These Afghan kids were cool; I think a couple of them actually got it judging by the look on their face. We appreciate the guys hanging in there with us. Can’t wait to see ‘em again.

Howdi,
This is Dustin Gulihur and i am currently stationed in Sigonella, Sicily. I
just wanted to personally thank CCR for the great music. We listen to it in
the shop everyday! Even the yanks. Texas is missed very much but with the help
of CCR and The Stragglers I think I'm gonna make it. Thanks for the great music
and the added moral in AIMD Sigonella.

I am an Iraq veteran. I first saw/heard these guys when I saw the video for 17
on CMT. I just wanna say that the music of Cross Canadian Ragweed kept me sane
during my 15 month combat tour in Iraq. I hope that this message gets to them.
Since my return to Germany, I have bought online, every Cross Canadian Ragweed
CD that I could find. I introduced their music to my family in august on my return
from Iraq. They are avid fans now. There is no other music out there that even
comes close to theirs. I am here in Germany now, safe from all the mortar fire,
rockets, and roadside bombs. I will always be grateful for these four musicians
to provide the music that put me at ease so many nights in a land that I wasn't
sure that I would ever make it out of. Thank you, you four fine individuals.

Hey
Guys,
I said I would send some pictures from GTMO so here they are. The Arkansas Razorback,
(fabricated by SSG Newsom 216th MP CO Arkansas NG) the Caribbean and CCR CD's.
Your music has helped to get me and many others through the last several months
and we are thankful. You guys are awesome. See you soon once we hit the states
in less than 15 days. I sent a couple of more pictures of the rock garden(the
U.S. flag at half staff for President Reagen), this is how units assigned to
GTMO leave their legacy, the Razorback because it is KICK ASS!!!!!!!! and a
camouflaged Cantu that was stolen from a playground by the outgoing 1/181 INF
Massachusetts NG and strategically placed in the rock garden.

Ragweed fan in the middle!
I took these pictures when I was over in Kuwait. I ordered the CD when I was
over there off the internet, and I don't think I've put it down since. Every
song off it KICKS ASS!!!!!! Of course by looking at the pictures you can tell
what was our favorite song. It seemed to fit everything so well. Just being
sick and tired. I tried to get everyone in the pictures, but I had some asses
that didn't want to be. I'm the one on the very top of the HUMMV.I'm stationed
out in OKC, OK. Tinker AFB with 72nd SFS. The other guys are from Moody AFB,GA.,and
Hanscom AFB, MA. I saw CCR in concert once in Wichita Falls, and that had to
be the best concert I've ever seen. We'll anyway I wanted to send these to you
while I was over in Kuwait, but I'm not very computer illiterate. Thanks again
for such a great CD!!!!!

Hey
yall I love the band and the music. My squadron has barbeques all the time and
at the last one I played if I were president and they all loved it. As members
of the Air Force they had a great appreaction for the lyrics on Sadaam and Osama.
Im stationed at Nellis AFB about 5 minutes outside of Las Vegas and it sucks
when I cant get home to see more of you guys but you can bet ill be at the show
on the 11th of August. Keep the Cd's coming out and ill keep playing loud at
the barracks. Thanks for the great music it really helps when I get home sick.

Hey Guys,
Greeting from Guantanmamo Bay Cuba. I love your music. I saw your video on
CMT and thought the song was awesome. When I went home on leave I looked for
Soul Gravy and bought it at Wal-Mart along with Live at Billy Bobs. I have
since bought all your albums and I am trying to convert some of guys here
and it is working. I also caught a concert while on leave in Lafayette La.
Great music and great support for the troops makes being here more tolerable.
Also got my 16 year old daughter hooked on you. Rock on and I will keep listening
and will catch more concerts. It is awesome to here a bunch of soldiers unwind
and forget about what we do and endure here by singing the boys from oklahoma
in the back yard (no grass just dirt).
Pictures will be coming soon.

until I got a copy of "Live at Billy bob's" about a month ago. Now it's the
only thing I listen to. You guys should really do a concert here!!! Your bad
ass!!!!!!
Anyway just wanted to let you know that you're a huge hit over here. I'm looking

Hey guys,
I wanted to write first, because I am still trying to figure out how in the
hell to get my photos developed. I am in Fallujah, Iraq, and the two things
from home that I brougt to remind me of home was a Ragweed baseball T and a
Texas Cap. I have spent the last few nights falling asleep to Live and Loud
at Billy Bobs and Purple. We finally got our mail today after about a 3 week
wait. I found an awesome gift from my beautiful wife, Soul Gravy. Holy Shit!
It is an awesome album, one that I will have to share along with the others
that I already have shared. I can't explain to folks what it is like to see
you guys live and the DVD is going to be great. All I have to do is find a DVD
player. I want you guys to know that you play inspiring music for me and many
other Marines. The city has been total carnage and will continue to be death
and destruction. I have lost friends and I pray to the Lord for their souls
and their families, along with the safe return for the rest of us to the states.
It is always nice to go back to camp and try like hell to unwind with mortars
comming down on us. The music takes away the sounds of war and brings back the
peacefullness of Texas. I am greatful to have a CD player. It motivates me to
hear "The President Song," or "Long Way Home." Thank you
for thinking of us. War is hell!!! I promise to send some motivating pictures
of Fallujah, Iraq next time. Thank you for the great music.
Sincerely

Hey
guys. I did it. I had to travel to 26 miles past nowhere, but I finally found
him. The only guy not to have been at the recording of Live at the Wormy Dog.
I took care of him though and got him up to speed. Just wanted to let you know
that you guys really are the Shit! From out at the fire bases to back in Kabul,
you keep my mind off of the bad shit and on good music! My awsome, hot, Kick Ass
wife just sent me Soul Gravy and the DVD. It Kicks a whole gunny sack full of
ASS! Keep rockin and you can bet we will keep doing what we need to do. Looking
forward to the first concert I can get to when I get home. Every day above ground
is a good day! God Bless!

and Lake Texoma, called Bells, Tx. Somehow me and him got stationed together here
in 29 Palms, Ca, and he got sent to Iraq. But, when he was here, and when he gets
back we are gonna keep on rocking the Ragweed and getting more folks turned on
to you. I keep him updated on everything you guys do and I even sent him a copy
of Soul Gravy, so he could rock the weed over there. We appreciate you guys giving
us transplanted Texans a little bit of home every time we listen to one of your
cds.
Thanks!!!! From the marines of 29 palms........... Oorah!!!!

Fellas,
Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm making sure you're well represented
up here in Yankeeland (Boston). I'm on the "less glorious" side of
the war effort. Air Force Acquisitions, baby! You're looking at my typical day
actually. Phone calls, emails, web surfing, boot shining, and honor guard practice.
After work its back to the mobile home to hear some Ragweed. Glad to see that
y'all can support the troops without making piss-poor, patriotic music. Hope
to be back in God's country seeing y'all real soon.

Hey
all, just wanted to check in with you guys. Flying the F-15E is great, and everything
else is going well here in N.C., but its definitely not home. I'll never forget
how all of you went out of your way to get a little taste of what we do for
a living and put on a great show for us in the process. I owe you many thanks...for
making great music, for a few wake up calls here and there (McCoy..you too Awacs),
and for showing such a genuine appreciation for the military. I look forward
to catching up with you all very soon, its been too long.

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to thank ya'll for making great music and being great people.
This picture was taken in the cockpit of a C-5 on its way to Iraq. I've spent
hours listening to yall's music while putting in many back to back 24 hour days.
The music reminds me of home (Texas of course!) and the great times I've had
and the great times that lay ahead. Take care and keep on rockin!

our job easier. We wear the uniform and get the job done, but its people like
you that help us along the way. Keep on rockin' boys and we'll be back home
soon.

Hey.. love the band. I'm deployed to South West Asia in support of the current
war and listen to CCR everyday. (121 and counting) I was stationed in Oklahoma
city for 4 years. In that time became a huge fan of you guys and Jason Boland.
Now I'm stationed out of NC and cant wait to get back
and see you in Raleigh. They actually sell the Purple album over here. I have
turned a bunch of guys on to CCR. Here is a pic of your sticker on the ever
famous MOAB (Mother of all Bombs) and a HMMWV (Hummer). Thought you would enjoy
knowing that if they ever have to use the thing you will be part of it!
